Whitetail
Deer
We want you to shoot a trophy
buck! You will not be charged a trophy fee as we encourage you to take an 8
point buck or greater. This practice gives younger bucks the opportunity to
mature and promotes a sustainable, high quality (trophy) population for the
future. The number of buck hunts will continue to be limited. We understand the importance of protecting young bucks combined
with an adequate harvest of female deer to maintain a healthy population in
balance with existing habitat conditions. This level of deer management involves
the production of quality bucks, quality habitat, and most importantly quality
hunting experiences.
We have private hunting ground in both Kansas ' deer hunting Units 7 and 8. Genetics in this area of the Republican River valley are outstanding.
John Band shot a monster non-typical buck in 1965, which scored 258 6/8 and
stands as #3 all time in the Kansas record books. John Nylund shot an impressive
typical whitetail buck in 1995, which scored 190 3/8 and stands as #5 all time
in the Kansas record books. Both of these bucks were shot within 4 miles of
River Bluff Hunting Co.'s outstanding, private hunting habitat.

season in Kansas typically opens in early April and runs through the end of May.
Our wild turkey numbers are excellent with numerous large gobblers. You will
not be charged a trophy fee as we encourage you to shoot a mature gobbler. We
have counted over 100 birds in one flock as they group up during winter months.
The number of turkey hunts will continue to be limited to ensure a
